Setting Up the Player App

Who this is for:ProOrganization

Whether you're launching an interactive kiosk in a museum gallery, setting up a welcome screen in a lobby, or deploying a self-guided educational experience across multiple rooms, the Zibit Player App is what brings your projects to life on real screens. Getting a device up and running is a straightforward process — by the end of this tutorial, your display will be connected to your Zibit account and ready to receive content.

Managing Your Players

The My Players page is your hub for connecting physical devices — like museum kiosks, lobby screens, or gallery displays — to your Zibit workspace. Before a device shows up here, you'll need to install the Zibit Player app on it. Download the version that matches your device's operating system: macOS, macOS (Apple Silicon), Linux, or Windows.

Once the app is installed and a device registers to your organization, it will appear in the player list below. From here, you can assign projects, monitor device status, and keep your displays running smoothly. Don't worry if the list looks empty right now — devices are added as they connect for the first time.

Download and Set Up the Zibit Player

The Zibit Player is the app that runs your experiences on a kiosk, display, or any screen in your space. Under "Download the Zibit Player", choose the version that matches your device's operating system — "macOS", "macOS (Apple Silicon)", "Windows", or "Linux" — and install it on the target machine.

Once installed, open the Zibit Player and sign in with your Zibit account. This registers the device and it will appear under "My Players", ready to be linked to a project. Don't worry if the list shows "No players, yet" — that updates as soon as your device signs in successfully.

Your player device is now set up and connected to your Zibit account — you're ready to start publishing experiences to real screens. Here are some great next steps to explore:

  • Publish your first project to a player — Open any project, head to the publishing settings, and assign it to your newly connected device to see your experience live.
  • Set up additional display devices — Repeat the player setup process for every kiosk or screen in your space, keeping all your devices organized from the My Players page.
  • Configure display settings for your device — Make sure your project's display resolution matches the physical screen for pixel-perfect layouts.
  • Organize players by location or zone — Use naming conventions in My Players to keep large multi-screen installations easy to manage at a glance.
  • Explore kiosk mode options — Lock your device into a focused, visitor-ready experience by reviewing the kiosk and autoplay settings available in the Player App.
