Setting Up a Device Schedule
Keeping your museum's displays running on the right schedule means one less thing your team has to manage manually. Whether you're running a lobby welcome screen that should power up before doors open, an interactive exhibit that runs during gallery hours, or digital signage that shuts down overnight, Zibit's device scheduling tools let you set it all up once and let it run automatically. This tutorial walks you through configuring a weekly schedule for any registered player device in your workspace.
Opening a Device's Actions Menu
The My Players page lists every device registered to your workspaces. Each device has its own actions menu where you can manage settings like automated playback schedules — perfect for making sure a lobby display turns on at opening time and powers down at closing.
To get started, find the device you want to configure (for example, Gallery Kiosk or Lobby Display) and click the Actions button next to it. This opens a menu with options specific to that player.

Opening the Schedule for a Player
To control when a player turns on and off each day, open its actions menu. Find the player you want to schedule — such as "Gallery Kiosk" or "Lobby Display" — and click the "Actions" button next to it. A menu will appear with options for that device.
From the menu, select "Manage schedule" to set the player's daily start and stop times. This is useful for exhibits that should only run during opening hours, or digital signage that needs to power down overnight.

Managing Your Display Schedule
The Manage schedule panel shows a weekly calendar grid, with days across the top and hours down the side. Any scheduled project snapshots appear as colored blocks, so you can see at a glance exactly when your display is showing what content — perfect for rotating exhibits, timed announcements, or after-hours signage.
To add your first time slot, click Add schedule. You'll be able to choose which project snapshot runs, pick the days of the week, and set a start and end time. Don't worry — you can edit or remove any schedule entry later if your programming changes.

Set Up a Schedule Window
In the "Add schedule" form, fill in the "Startup time" and "Shutdown time" fields to define when your player turns on and off. Then select the "Days of week" — toggle any combination of "Sun" through "Sat" — to control which days this window repeats.
Next, choose a "Project" from the dropdown and pick a "Snapshot" to lock in the exact version of that project you want to display during this window. This is especially useful for museum exhibits or lobby displays where you need a specific, approved version of your content to run on a reliable schedule. When you're ready, click "Add schedule" to save. You can always come back to adjust times or swap the snapshot later.

Your player device will now follow its schedule automatically — no manual intervention needed each day. From here, there's a lot more you can do to fine-tune how your displays behave across your venue.
- Set up schedules for additional players — repeat this process for every device in your workspace to keep your entire installation running in sync.
- Review your content publishing settings — make sure the right project is published to each player so the correct experience launches at startup.
- Coordinate schedules with venue hours — align your startup and shutdown windows with official opening times, including variations for weekends or special events.
- Revisit schedules seasonally — update your schedule windows when daylight hours or venue operating times change throughout the year.
- Explore workspace roles and permissions — control which team members can adjust device schedules to avoid accidental changes during live events.
